Survivor STORY

Allan John Hall (Adam Janos Horowitz) was born in Krakow, Poland, in 1935. In 1939, his family moved to Lvov, then to Warsaw, among other cities. In Warsaw, his parents arranged for him to be hidden, for a brief time, in an orphanage. His family remained in hiding throughout the war, mostly in Warsaw in the Drapach Building, now Hotel Warshawa. His parents would accept no charity, no matter how well meant. Allan’s parents, brother and grandmother all survived the war. The family moved to the United States in 1947 after terrible experiences under the Russians. Allan moved to Atlanta in 1968 after graduating from law school. He practiced law in Atlanta, and also taught at Southern Polytechnic State University in Marietta. Allan currently lives in Florida.
