Survivor STORY

Ruth Gross was born in Palanok, Czechoslovakia, which was part of the area ceded in Hungary. She and her family were forced into the Munkacs ghetto, from which they were deported to Auschwitz-Birkenau a few weeks later. Ruth was liberated from Stutthof.

Ruth and her husband, Bernard, emigrated to the United States after the war, and resettled in Elwood City, Pennsylvania. They moved to Atlanta when the Gross brothers moved their business to this area.
