Survivor STORY

Adolfo Diamantstein was born in Heidelburg, Germany. His family escaped to Italy after the Nazis rose to power. He was incarcerated in the Ferramonti di Tarsia internment camp. He and his wife immigrated to America in 1949 and settled in Brooklyn, New York. He was a sales representative in the toy manufacturing industry. He moved to the South to establish his own toy manufacturing business with his two brothers. After retiring, Adolfo remained active as both a sales associate for a men’s clothier and a passenger assistance agent at the Atlanta airport. His sister, Fay Polazzo lives in Atlanta. Adolfo passed away in October, 2001.
